The Power of the Play Yard

Posted by Jennifer Labrum on June 23, 2009

At the end of June, when it finally stopped raining and actually started to get warmer here, we started working out in our yard. We got out the kids' play yard (which they haven't been in since they were tiny and slept together in the top bassinet) and put it on the porch while we worked. Hanging out in the play yard was quite a novelty for them. They loved it!

When we brought it back inside we took the pad out of the play yard and put it on the floor. They played on that tiny little 2x3 pad in the wide open living room for probably 20 minutes. It was like a baby magnet. Since they've learned how to crawl they've never stayed in one place for more than 60 seconds. It was crazy the power this play yard pad had in keeping them in one small place for a long period of time.

They were really into doing the "almost somersault." Who knew we had gymnasts in the family?

If only I could come up with a powerfully captivating kid magnet every day! I might actually get my house cleaned.
