Some of Our Messier Moments
Posted by Jennifer Labrum on February 24, 2009Ella and Luke both like to eat. And who doesn't? But, they also both like to smear their food as much as possible, getting it into every crevice, every nook, and every cranny of their body and their booster seat. Oh, and let's not forget, the hair! They must rub food into their hair, their eye lashes, their eyebrows. It takes me as long to cleanup, as it does to feed them. I'm sure this is normal... this is normal, right?

Yes. Very normal. It lasts for YEARS, too. Get used to cleaning up the smears and crumbs! :-) Just wait until they expand it into other areas when you're not looking...Oh, and keep a swiffer handy. It's a messy stage but it can be oh, sooo cute and funny! Your kids are adorable!
Yes...totally normal! It will gradually move from making themselves totally messy to making every one and every thing around them messy. The older Lucas gets the more I appreciate our dog Copa. I can't imagine what my floors would look like with out Copa!
I'm totally shocked! My kids never make a mess, Ha, Ha! That second picture of Ella looks just like you!!!! I'm glad your kids are good eaters.
I think Ella takes 1st prize! Maybe the carrots (or whatever it is) is good for her complexion.
They are getting so big, I loved the moments when the mess was contained in a high chair good luck!
Haha, I'm sure it's very normal but even Spencer doesn't seem to make that big of messes! But I do usually give him something to hold, like the jar lid, and that seems to keep him from putting his hands in the food. They look so cute in all the pictures!
Fortunately it seems the super-messy times only happen every now and again. In general, I think they are getting better about keeping their hands out of their hair and not smearing the food on their faces. :)
