A Tale of Two Twins

Posted by Jennifer Labrum on November 9, 2008

Some people say they look alike. Some people say they don't look anything alike.
A Tale of Two Twins
Well, we're not really sure about looks yet, but we do know they are two different babies. For example:

Luke drinks out of his sippy cup like this and Ella drinks out of her sippy cup like this:
A Tale of Two Twins

Ella naps like this:
A Tale of Two Twins

...and Luke naps like this:
A Tale of Two Twins

Luke is very coordinated and can hold his bottle. Ella, well, she's working on it.
A Tale of Two Twins

They both drool. But Ella's drool is a little more excessive and she always has a huge wet spot on her shirt. While Luke, maybe a wet spot on his chin.
A Tale of Two Twins

Ella can sit up and loves to smile. But, she doesn't have any teeth. Luke is not a fan of sitting up, he'd rather bounce or stand. He has two teeth and we're working on his smile. (He thinks he's smiling, but it looks more like a mad face sometimes.)
A Tale of Two Twins

Luke can move! His crawling form isn't pretty, it's something like the butterfly in swimming, but he's fast.
A Tale of Two Twins

Ella has great form and can't move an inch.
A Tale of Two Twins

But, the couple things they have in common are. . .
A Tale of Two Twins

Big heads (really, they're measuring in the 100th percentile) and cute smiles!

That was great! It's crazy how opposite they are, but they're both so cute & loveable. It'll be fun to see if they're still so different as they grow.

My kids have big heads too. I'm glad you don't have a complex about it. It all sounds familiar: the drooling, learning to move and hold a bottle, and especially the die-hard napper.

My nephew had a big head too! It was our favorite thing about him. He would crawl with his head on the ground pushing it around. Eventually he got it up but he had to take lots of rests.... He grew into it! :) I love the pics. and can't wait until I get my little boy into the world! Love ya!

Boy, Emily loved this tale of two twins! She loves seeing their pictures and says their names over and over. This is great entertainment! on a scale of 1-10, Emily gives it a 25!! Love you guys.

Big heads mean high IQs!

Oh, my gosh! They are growing up so fast! I am laughing about the "Butterfly" crawl! Abbi is convinced that the "inchworm" is the way to go! I don't know if she will ever get the "real" technique down, and she is 9 months this week! And, what about Luke's teeth! Isn't it crazy how differently babies develop? Again, Abbi is 9 months and still waiting for teeth! I'm okay with that though (still nursing):)! Great job keeping the updates coming. Can't wait until the next one! Or better yet, until we see your family next!

Love,
cousin Monica

Wow they're definitely different in lots of ways! I think they do look a lot alike. I especially think Ella looks like Jen. They're adorable!

Wow. They are sooo big! And so very cute! We think they have your eyes, Jen. Isn't amazing how two tiny little people are so different right from the start? It's so much fun to see them grow and develop their own quirks and traits. It will always make you smile.

Oh My Gosh they are getting so big! I think it is so funny how different they are and how much they both look like one of you! Ella like Jenn and Luke like Clifton...so funny!

Awesome post. Love it.

Jamie — November 12, 2008 8:23 AM

So cute!!! I can't believe they are so big already!

It always amazes me how differently my twinners respond to life even though I feel like I treat them so similarly. No doubt about it--we come into this world as individuals, even if we come into it at the same time.
