First Playtime Together

Posted by Jennifer Labrum on September 16, 2008

Tonight Luke and Ella were getting a little restless (we don't like the word "cranky"), which means they're hungry, tired, or bored. We had just fed them and they both had long naps this afternoon. We deduced that it had to be boredom causing their little baby attitudes to flare up. Since both of them have learned how to roll onto their tummy, and insist on being in that position, got out their piano and put it in front of them. I wanted to see first, if it would keep their attention and chase away the boredom and second, if they would "share." To be honest, Ella wasn't into sharing so much at first. But she got over that once the "show" started. Once one of them pushed a key, a short 10 second song would play while little red, blue and yellow stars lit up above the keys. They were mesmerized! It was like they were watching an intense baby movie and couldn't pull their eyes away. The lights in the family room happened to be dimmed, adding to the theater's ambiance. We took some pictures because we're first time parents and we can't help ourselves. They're so darn cute! (We didn't get the tripod out, so they're a little fuzzy.)
