Meet Ella and Luke

Posted by Clifton Labrum on April 9, 2008
Ella and Luke are 18 hours old now and are doing better and better as time goes on. Ella has Apnea (stops breathing at random) so she's still in the Special Care Nursery (LDS Hospital's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit). Initially there were concerns with her blood sugar and oxygen level, but both are looking really good now.

Luke was also having blood sugar issues, but that is improving with each feeding. Luke was upgraded to the regular nursery last night and spends lots of time with us here in our room and we're hopeful that Ella will improve to the point that we can bring her in with us. It's like a non-stop party in here. :)

We're so excited to see them improving as they recover from a very hard day of delivery. Jenn is doing remarkably well and is up and walking around, eating full meals, and nursing the kids. We're so happy mom can be there to start helping, cuddling, and feeding the babies.

More news to follow as it develops. Thanks for all your love, support, and prayers!

The kids are beautiful, absolutely perfect!! Ella looks like she is pumping her muscles ready to get big and strong and Luke has such a sweet face with perfect skin!!! WOw! How lucky you are!! So glad that Jenn is feeling well, those social workers we can tough out anything right!! Here's hoping that Ella gets to join the party soon!!

They are both beautiful!! You guys did great. Jenn are you excited that you're not pregnant anymore? It's nice to be able to bend over again isn't. The kids are excited to have new cousins. In fact, Kaylee wants to come your house and see them "right now". They're sending two great big kisses your way for the babies. We'll keep all of you in our prayers. Jenn, give me call, whenever, I want to hear all the details, but I don't want to call and wake you up. We love you!!

Congrats, Cliff. Please raise them in truth and honor, as well as The Force. I'm sure their Midi-chlorian counts are both way off the chart. (This comment didn't start out as a Star Wars thing)

Very impressive work.
