Ella and Luke 11 Days Old

Home Sweet Home

Posted by Clifton Labrum on April 19, 2008
Our pediatrician, Dr. Cannon, came in to our hospital room on Thursday (April 17th) morning to give us the customary daily update. He surprised us by letting us know that Ella would be discharged and was ready to go home. We knew we were getting close but figured it would be another couple days.

We packed our things, talked to a few nurses, and headed home on Thursday afternoon. Since then, we've been enjoying the comforts of a kitchen, our own bed, and relaxing couches. The kids had a hard first night (up every hour) but last night was a lot better. We think they're relaxing into their new surroundings and are feeling more comfortable. Welcome home, Luke and Ella!

Oh, they look so cute wrapped up like little baby burritos! Both of my kids loved to be swaddled, and I would recommend it to anyone. I'm very happy for you guys, and here's hoping that the twins will settle right in and be sleeping for 6 hours at a stretch very soon!

So glad to hear that you are all home! I bet that feels so good to be out of the hospital. Here is to a few good nights of sleep. When I had Lucas I had no idea what a swaddler was (you probably know however thought I would pass along just in case) they worked great.....Swaddle Me has great swaddlers (on line or at Babies R Us) that helped Lucas sleep in the first few months. He loved it, and so did we! I would highly recommend them!! Congratulations and so glad that you are home.

Happy Birthday to Jenn!!!!!
It's great to have your birthday the same month as your first babies. Have fun with them and learn to sleep when they do!!! Love, Mom (Labrum)
